STATEMENT
My work explores the tension between resistance and acceptance of change. I am interested in the relationship between maintaining control, versus surrendering to process and material. Often questioning how interpretation and memory change over time, I create photographic works that are ever changing with their environment in reference to the subconscious mind. I often do this by allowing ink and imagery to diffuse, blur and collect dust and hair. Themes of reflection, distance and misunderstanding are present in my work. I am fascinated by the blurred lines that perception can create, and the possibilities and limitations of overcoming those boundaries to gain intimacy and connection.
