BIO

Vanessa Norton (she/her) is a writer and multimedia artist based on Ohlone land in the place known as Oakland. She has a BA in Cultural Anthropology/Gender Studies from Bard College and an MFA in Creative Writing from University of Oregon. As a visual artist, she is self-taught. She joined San Francisco Artist Studios in July 2021.

Artist Statement
Vanessa's work explores liminal spaces of the physical and emotional world. Often photo-presenting, it is in dialogue with feminist conceptual art, graffiti, and installation.
