In this workshop Dr Michael Waldron (Crawford Art Gallery) will discuss the practice of curation with a particular focus on approaches to conceiving an exhibition; the process behind the selection of works; and the art of knowing what to include – and what to omit – when exhibition making.
About the facilitator:
Dr Michael Waldron is Curator of Collections & Special Projects at Crawford Art Gallery, Cork where he works closely with historic and contemporary artworks. He brings an interdisciplinary background of literary criticism and art history to bear on his approach to curation and seeks to generate multiple entry points for diverse audiences. He is the curator of Deep Maps (2017), Recasting Canova (2019-22), and Laura Fitzgerald: I have made a place (2021).
